We are searching for a Staff Accountant to join an expanding team! Reporting directly to the CFO and EVP of Operations & Finance, this role will be a key part of the accounting and finance team, supporting global operations, including business in China.
Responsibilities - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual income and balance sheet statements, account reconciliations, and other various accounting reports.
- Conduct daily account reconciliations, monitor key brokerage operational controls, and resolve discrepancies between general ledger and sub-ledger systems to maintain the integrity of downstream regulatory reporting.
- Oversee the daily segregation of fully paid securities and perform the weekly computation of the firm’s reserve requirements to ensure consistent compliance with net capital rules.
- Prepare supporting documentation, technical accounting analyses, and broker-dealer guidance memos for internal and external auditors.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments, make strategic recommendations for process and control adjustments, and oversee their implementation in compliance with FINRA and SEC requirements.
- Manage daily accounting tasks such as accounts payable/receivable, account and vendor reconciliations, revenue recognition, and ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- 1+ years of relevant experience in financial services or public accounting.
- Previous experience in the securities industry or with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
