About the JobOur client, a leading self-clearing proprietary broker-dealer, is seeking an
EVP of Finance & Operations to oversee brokerage operations, related affiliates, and serve as a key member of the executive team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will lead the implementation and management of financial processes, accounting controls, external filings, and financial reporting. The EVP will collaborate with business units and functional teams to produce consolidated financial statements and disclosures in compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements. Additionally, this position will monitor and implement emerging SEC regulations and new U.S. GAAP standards.
Responsibilities - Partner with the CEO and senior leadership on day-to-day operations of the proprietary trading firm.
- Identify process improvements and recommend strategic changes.
- Conduct P&S and margin calculations to reconcile data.
- Prepare financial statements and maintain Broker-Dealer records in accordance with GAAP while ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with the CFO to analyze financial data, create reports, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Stay current on regulatory developments and recommend process/control enhancements, ensuring successful implementation.
- Maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and auditors.
- Provide strategic insights and value-added recommendations across the firm and key business units.
- Manage tax planning and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, payroll, and property tax requirements.
- Supervise and/or perform the Broker-Dealer's financial responsibility duties under the Exchange Act.
- Communicate accounting processes clearly and responsively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate across departments to align financial systems with accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.

- Net Capital Computations
- Supplemental Schedule of Income (SSOI)
- Form Custody
- Brokerage Statement Analysis
- Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) compliance
- Annual audit and FINRA examination support
- Accounting due diligence and bookkeeping
Qualifications - B.S. in Accounting or Finance required; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Series 27 certification is required.
- CPA preferred but not mandatory.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in broker-dealer operations or finance, preferably as a FINOP or in a finance leadership role at a self-clearing broker-dealer.
- Expert understanding of broker-dealer operations, regulatory reporting (FINRA, SEC), and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data for decision-making support.
- Highly professional, articulate, and polished, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and reliability.
- Broad experience across operations, finance, compliance, risk management, cash management, and treasury is a plus.
